ERNEST SHACKLETON Loves Me

The storyline of ERNEST SHACKLETON Loves Me centers around Kat, a single mother whose lover has run off to perform with the band Journey and leaves her to struggle with raising their child. Kat, a video game composer, who has been working long hours to make ends meet, had just finished posting a dating video when she received an unexpected response. When she answered, she heard the voice of a man who introduced himself as Ernest Shackleton. Kat was confused. Ernest Shackleton was a famous polar explorer who lived in the early 1900s. How could he possibly be calling her? But as they talked, Kat realized that she was speaking to Shackleton, who was shipwrecked and stranded on an iceberg in the Antarctic, but he was inspired by Kat's music, helping him find a renewed sense of hope and determination. Kat wonders if her 36 hours of working have made her sleep deprive and delusional. But, shocked and intrigued, she felt a connection with him that she had never felt before, and against all odds, Shackleton and Kat formed a bond, sharing their stories, struggles, and dreams. Shackleton's tales of survival in the harsh Antarctic landscape inspire Kat to keep pushing through her challenges. As their friendship deepened, she realized that Shackleton was a kindred spirit who understood her struggles and encouraged her never to give up. Together, they discovered that their greatest inspiration lay within each other.

Porchlight Theatre brings a masterpiece of comedy, music, and splendid narrative adventure to its stage in Ernest Shackleton Love Me. Elisa Carlson (Kat) and Andrew Mueller played their roles to perfection. Carlson, a musical savant, has an amazing combination of vocals that match her incredible talents in playing musical instruments. Mueller is a natural with a fantastic comedic style and great singing and musical skills. Together they make this 90-minute production of love and adventure a spectacular evening you wish could continue forever.

As the days passed, the bond between Kat and Shackleton grew stronger. They laughed together, cried together, and even sang together. And through it all, they found the strength to overcome the odds and emerge victorious. In the end, Ernest Shackleton Loves Me became a timeless tale of love, adventure, and the power of music. And for Kat and Shackleton, their unlikely connection across space and time proved that anything is possible if you dare to dream—against all odds, they discover that their greatest inspiration lies within each other. Ultimately, Kat realized she didn't need a romantic partner to make her happy. Instead, she had Shackleton, a true friend who had reached across space and time to share his Journey with her. With Shackleton's encouragement, she could continue pursuing her dreams, knowing she had a true friend in, Ernest Shackleton, by her side.

I'm already calling for ERNEST SHACKLETON Loves Me to be extended. It's 90 minutes of pure entertainment, an adventure you don't want to miss!
